San Diego Decom is the San Diego Burning Man Community's post-Burning Man Decompression event where we celebrate the vibrant creative and communal elements of San Diego and the surrounding areas.

San Diego Decom is a 3 day/2 night camping event that will take place on the La Jolla Indian Reservation Campgrounds. There will be no glass of any kind allowed on-site, and no vending, with the exception of firewood and ice.

The theme for this year is YOUtopia.

YOUtopia is your place, the place that you make. YOUtopia is your perfect world. The best of every thing. The best of anything.

YOUtopia is your creation and your art. YOUtopia is YOU. YOUtopia is Love and inspiration. Growth into the ideal you. It is Imagination. The place where the dark you is accepted, and the best of you is nurtured.

YOUtopia is usually fun, sometimes a little scary, but always full of acceptance for who you are. In YOUtopia your fear and love and anger and hope are reflected in your art and your being.

YOUtopia teaches. YOUtopia is your community It is the place that you build. YOUtopia is safe. The home that you love. The family that you join and all that you are. You are your YOUtopia.

We invite you to show us your idea of YOUtopia – is it a future wonderland of machines that serve your every whim, or a fantasy land of elves and dwarves? Would you rather create something you want to see in your every day life or that ridiculous sculpture you have always had at the back of your mind? Maybe you will explore the dark side of dystopias such as 1984 or post apocalyptic horrors, or even the rebirth of civilization, a little bit wiser than the first time around?
